The Sentimental Petal was founded in 2016 by Michelle Pierce out of a deep conviction that everyone should have access to extraordinary florals and attentive, personal service when planning once-in-a-lifetime events. Through private consultations, customized design plans and creative floral arrangements, our experienced team goes above and beyond to bring your unique vision to life.
Michelle Pierce
Owner & Lead Designer
The desire to connect with others through the creative and visual arts, has been a driving force in Michelle’s life for as long as she can remember. As a floral designer, she is known for her lush, highly detailed bridal bouquets, exquisite wearables, and show-stopping installations. Her other artistic pursuits include painting and illustration, jewelry making and set and costume design for the theater. Before finding her calling in luxury floral design, she had a successful, career as a corporate recruiter, where she became an expert at listening to and encouraging others to achieve their highest potential. Michelle has been married for 24 years to her husband Stephen, and together they have raised two children who are also working artists. When she is not writing proposals, making bouquets, or nursing hot glue gun burns she enjoys black coffee, 90’s party jams and long road trips to small towns. Megan Dedon
Production Manager & Senior Designer
Megan joined The Sentimental Petal in 2018 and quickly made herself an indispensable member of our team. A talented artist in her own right, she has a degree in graphic design, and is an experienced illustrator and photographer. Her aesthetic is whimsical, and colorful. She loves tiny details, interesting textures, and organic forms. As our Production Manager, Megan is responsible for taking our client’s ideas and inspiration and delivering a customized floral experience that is on point, on time and completely stress-free. In 2020 Megan became a Sentimental Bride when she married our founder’s son, Jackson in an intimate, beautifully-curated wedding on her family’s property. She currently resides in Hammond, Louisiana where she is planting a garden and renovating her first home.
Katie Hornsby
Floral Designer
Katie has been a fan and friend of The Sentimental Petal from the very start when we were primarily known for designing corsages and boutonnières for high school dances. She was an enthusiastic recipient of our unique, artistic florals and she became an unofficial brand ambassador of sorts - sharing our story to anyone who would listen! As we grew in to one of the most popular wedding brands in our market, we found ourselves in need of additional designers who understood our aesthetic and unique approach to event florals and Katie was the obvious choice. She has been learning and working with us since 2020, creating a wide range of arrangements, assisting on deliveries, keeping our studio organized and taking care of the thousands of fresh flowers that we process during wedding season. In 2021 Katie became a Sentimental Bride, when she married Chapman, The brilliant young man who gave her all those fabulous corsages in high school.
